Pittsboro Downtown Mask Parade! 

October 16 features a “Downtown Mask Parade.”  You (and your pets) are invited to wear costumes and masks and join us.  The parade starts at the Downtown Pop-Up Park (50 West Salisbury St.) through the Social District and ends with a Costume Contest and Award Ceremony at the SOCO Patio (39 West St. across from the historic Chatham County Courthouse Traffic Circle).  There's face and pumpkin decorating and even an ice cream eating contest!

Other Activities:

  • Talk to local pet businesses and organizations at the Pittsboro Downtown Pop-Up Park. 
  • Have your face decorated or paint pumpkins at Page Vernon Park.
  • Artist Vendors will be located along the parade route.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their pets and showcase their creativity while participating in this downtown celebration.

Friday October 16 

  • 5PM:  Sign up at the Downtown Pop-Up Park
    (50 West Salisbury St.) 
  • 6PM:  Parade through the Social District to the SOCO Patio
    (39 West St.)
  • 7-8PM:  SOCO Patio Judging and Contests 
    • Costume judging & prizes awarded at the SOCO Patio
    • Ice Cream Eating Contest at the SOCO Patio
    • Carved Pumpkin judging

1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest

Signup by emailing Theresa Thompson: tthompson@pittsboronc.gov.

  • Pumpkins provided - pick up in advance.
  • Drop off at Nonna's Cafe' 39 West Street before 6PM Friday October 16.
  • Pumpkins kept indoors until the event.
  • Carved pumpkins judging and awards at SOCO Patio at 39 West Street at 7 PM.
  • Pumpkins will be displayed on SOCO Patio walls during October through Halloween.
